Why hire a personal trainer?
How well do you think a sports team would perform without a coach? A trainer serves as your coach to motivate you to develop good habits around fitness and nutrition. Most people need guidance and clear direction when developing these habits that will become a regular part of your life. If you are like most people, you have a life team comprised of doctors, financial advisors, clergy, home assistants and more. A trainer will be a valued member of that life team as well, insuring you keep your physical health and well being in tune as well.
How many sessions per week are necessary?
Three is generally a good number. We also advocate cardio training on the days in between. The body is at its best when moving. If you do some sort of exercise 3-5 days per week, you will see results.
How long until I see results?
Exercise has a cumulative effect. If you are consistent with workouts and follow the meal recommendations we provide, we typically see noticeable physical changes in 3 weeks.
What are some benefits of personal training programs?
Weight loss; Increased energy; Less fatigue; Improved sleep patterns; Stronger heart; Lower blood pressure; Decreased body fat; Lower cholesterol; Improved muscle-tone, strength and endurance; Improved flexibility and balance; Mastery of proper weight lifting form for injury prevention; Builds your body, mind and self-esteem.
Does your trainer bring fitness equipment to my home?
Yes, they travel with an assortment of dumbbells, steps, jump ropes, resistance bands, balance disks, medicine balls, etc...
Do I need any special equipment?
No, everything you need will be provided. At the initial session (fitness assessment), we will review any equipment you do have and our trainer will make recommendations for filling in what's missing so you can still do your workouts on the days you don't meet with our trainer.
Tell me about the initial fitness assessment session?
The initial session consists of sign-up forms, taking baseline measurements & weight, fitness testing, filling out and reviewing goal sheets, medical history and legal forms. This information is used as a basis to determine where you're starting from, to measure progress, identify any physical limitations, and to create your customized workout program. (takes about 2 hours)
Included:
* Body fat measurements
* Circumference measurements & weight
* Flexibility testing
* Cardiovascular endurance testing
* Upper body muscular strength testing
* Muscular endurance testing
For best results, please do not eat, smoke, or drink caffeine two hours prior to testing. Also, no alcohol for 24 hours before test, and please do not exercise before testing that day!
What should I wear during the initial fitness assessment session?
A sleeveless top, form-fitting workout pants (or shorts), a regular (not sports) bra, and gym shoes. This enables me to take measurements that are as accurate as possible without extra fabric from loose clothing. We all know the effect of a sports bra has on chest measurements, so we ask that you save the sports bra for your second session when you'll actually be doing a workout. Most of all, we want you to be comfortable.
Will I need medical clearance?
It depends on your age and health history. This will be determined during your initial assessment.
I have children at home - will I need to get a babysitter?
Not unless you choose to. As long as interruptions are minimal, you will still get a great workout - and set a great example for your kids!
What is the cost?
Why is training so expensive?
When you compare the cost to the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, it really is not that expensive. When you are fit and healthy, medical bills drop, sick days are reduced and you are more energetic and productive. Those things translate directly to positively impact your bottom line. A good trainer should want you to "graduate" from personal training and transition into working out on your own. That means they have been successful in instilling healthy lifestyle habits that you can now practice for the rest of you life.
What if I can't afford In-Home Training? Do I have another option?
Yes! We can train you online for a fraction of the cost of our in home programs.
